All your life you have probably heard of the importance of getting a good night's sleep. I have parents too. I also have young children that I am trying to get to go to bed. You may have even told your own children and family members that it is important to get a good night of sleep.
Benefits of a Good Night's Sleep
Your Body Heals Itself - While your are sleeping, your body heals injuries and helps discard inflammation that has built up over the course of your waking hours
Decrease Your Chance of Injury - In repeated studies, it has been found that you are less likely to have an injury if you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night.
Feel Refreshed - The chemical reactions that take place in your body while you sleep will help you feel refreshed and ready to start the day.
Be More Positive - With more rest, it is easier to get through the day and you will be more positive. You will have a better outlook on your days ahead
Improve Your Memory - Sleep helps with memory retention. It has been shown that good sleep will help your long term memory and you will be able to remember all of your appointments.
I have written a blog about how to get better sleep here.
