7 Tips To Improve Your Health and Wellness

Wellness is a huge buzzword today. Maybe it will always be one. But most of you, myself included, are always trying to be healthier. The following list is designed to get you on your way. You don't have to do all of them.

7 Tips To Improve Your Health and Wellness

  1. Take it easy - This does not mean just relax. It is important to start slow. For most of you that means picking one thing (nutrition, exercise, sleep, etc.) and focusing on that. Once you have made some improvement in one area and are consistent you can move on to a second and then a third area! There is no right place to start, but there is right way to start!

  2. Be consistent - No matter what you choose to start with, you should build it in to your schedule. This will help you to be consistent. Consistency leads to habit. Habits are hard to break. Consistency will lead to better and healthier habits and a healthier you!

  3. Small doses - Even after you pick one area to start with, you need to start small. Changes are difficult for your body to handle. It will take some time (1-2 weeks) for your body to adapt to your changes. Give it time by building up and not going all out

  4. Find something you enjoy - Not everyone likes to do the same things or eat the same things. You can have fun by trying different recipes or different activities. There are plenty of options available for you to choose from. You all have different likes and dislikes. Lean into your likes!

  5. Use an accountability buddy - Studies have shown that having someone help you on your journey will make it more likely you stick to it. You can find a spouse or friend to help you stay committed. This is a long journey and help will be a benefit

  6. Know it's okay to skip - Life happens! Sometimes, no matter how much effort you put in, you have to skip a day. Let me tell you "it's okay." Things happen, special events happen. Don't put your life on hold and miss out on things you will regret.

  7. Start Today - The best time to start is now (when you finish reading this). Go and make a list of things that you want to change to be healthier. Pick one that you like and start there!
