What is Low Back Pain?
Low back pain is defined as pain in the lumbar portion of the back. The lumbar portion of the back is the bottom five vertebrae or segments of the spine. If you are checking your own back it would be the area below the ribs! Any pain coming from the muscles or deep inside is considered low back pain.
Pain that goes down your legs with a feeling of electricity, numbness, tingling, are shooting can be related to your back and can fall into the category of low back pain!
There are things that may feel like low back pain but may be something else referring pain to the low back. This can be from issues with your hips, pelvis, abdomen, or organs. It is important to rule out any nefarious conditions before working to get rid of musculoskeletal back pain.
