Epsom Salt Foot Bath!

Many of you have foot pain. You are on your feet at work, chasing kids, or staying healthy. You deserve a foot vacation! Try an Epsom Salt foot bath.

What are Epsom Salts?

Epsom Salts are a compound know as magnesium sulfate. The chemicals in these are magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. The compound looks like salt and is most likely how it got it's name. It does not taste like table salt!

Magnesium is the most likely reason it does what it does! Most of you (including myself) do not get enough magnesium. The rumor is that this will absorb through the skin (no studies have proved this yet).

Epsom Salts will dissolve in water making a bath the most common use for them. They are available at most drug stores and grocery stores.

The Magnesium

Magnesium promotes good sleep and overall decreased stress levels. It helps with constipation and exercise recovery. Magnesium also helps control pain and swelling.

You can also use a dietary supplement of magnesium, but it's way less relaxing than a bath.

Taking A Bath

Use 2 cups of Epsom salt in your bath and give it a few minutes to dissolve. You can even find one with a relaxing fragrance like lavender for your bath. It may just be taking the time to relax in the bath, but Epsom salt has no negative side effects (unless you ingest it, so don't).

Because the evidence behind this is limited, you may want to try this at the end of the day to just relax and come down from your busy life!! If you don't notice a difference, then you don't have to continue doing it!
