Intuitive Eating


Intuitive eating is a process of learning about yourself and the things your do revolving around food. The core principles revolve around habits and behaviors dealing with food.


As you have grown up and become who you are, you may have developed certain associations with meals, food, snacks, and even beverages.


The intuitive eating process is designed to help you recognize your habits and behaviors. You are still able to enjoy your time around food, but become better at recognizing the things that you do.


When I was growing up, my family was full of fast eaters. I developed a habit of eating fast. I continued this for years after I lived on my own. This is part of why I, at one point, weighted 300 pounds. What would happen is that my body was not recognizing fullness due to me just shoveling as much food in as fast as possible.


By recognizing this behavior I was able to slow down my eating, enjoy my food, eat less, and slim down.
